Some players just get under your skin and it's hard to let go. I love Chris Chambers. Last year I traded the second pick in the draft for an extra second round pick and took Chambers. I effectively traded away Larry Johnson for Rudi and a player I dropped. UGH. Of course my second pick came much quicker so in theory in a 14 team draft this should have been a good deal. (In theory) Miami is on the mend. Trent Green is the real deal and they will do their best to protect him. If Ronnie Brown steps up and does his job this year, then Green may actually make it through the season before Cleo Lemon takes back the reigns. Miami's defense is one of the best and their O-line is one year older. The new coach is great and a committed upgrade over a college wannabe without pro experience. If they can win in the first half of the year then by the time the really good teams come to town they will be fired up and ready for them. Momentum can go a long way in any sport and intimidation makes up for a lot of deficiencies. If they're 5-4, or better 6-3 when they hit the road for their Pennsylvania double header, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, then they will surprise a few people. There are crazy rivalries in their conference that are problems for good teams but bonuses for bad ones. They have a history of splitting games with the Jets regardless of talent and, at this point, no one is counting on Buffalo except for next year's #1 draft pick; who after talking to McGahee is praying they do better. Going 3-3 in their division is not a fantasy but a very real possibility. 8-8 would be a great season for this team and Chambers would be one of the main recipients. He is deceptively fast, has a hunger in his belly; especially after last season, and a proven nose for the end-zone. Anyone that succeeds to the top spot of his profession can do it again. They simply have it in them. He will be available in the late rounds and an excellent bench prospect. He is one of the focuses of the offense on this team and after making Eddie Kennison an acceptable fantasy bench player for years Green is ready to put Chambers back in the driver's seat to stardom. Bet on it. |
