There's something about Bernard! He's just not sexy. Maybe itıs Grossman's Grossly inconsistent play last year. Maybe it's the double teams he attracted by mid-season that he couldn't solve and shut him down. Maybe it's his lightening fast, unassuming team play that makes him so valuable but not stand out. Whatever. Grossman will play better this year. Chicago has had a bit of turmoil and didn't really improve the team either. But they are still the N.F.C. champs and until someone knock them off they will be again. They are the best team in the conference. Berrian is their best receiver. The defense will win games all by itself and the offense will have opportunity after opportunity to succeed. Even though Benson is a turd he will respond to the opportunity this year and perform. Berrian will be double teamed again but not every game. He should have a bit spotty but consistent touchdown year and more then a few of them will be bonus bombs. But, isn't this what you would like to get from any receiver? Like Cotchery's Coles, Berrian has Muhammad. He may not have the personality to succeed as an elite receiver and this is what worries me. But, he has the skills and if Grossman can be more accurate this year then Berrian will be the recipient. |
