3244 yards 24 TDs and only 18 interceptions. 6'4" 224 lbs. 2006: 15th QB, 68th overall, 84 points: 7,11,10,B,4,6,8,3,3,0,4,3,7,9,1,5,3 The Giants had a tough year. Injuries destroyed what began as a decent and dangerous team. Most pundits pointed out this proclivity before the season as many injuries were carrying over from the year before. It was like predicting arrests for Cincinnati. I believe in the talent on this team. Coughlin is a good coach. He is from another time and mindset but maybe this is what these kids need. At least, that is what the owners thought when they brought him in. This could be his last season and it will be a failure of nerve by the team if he is gone. People lament the lines weaknesses but they are in the N.F.L and there are many good players here. Eli needs to grow into a leadership role. He has always been the little brother but no longer. He is the man running the offense on an N.F.L. team and he needs to accept his responsibilities accordingly. He needs to step up and take his life by the reins and run with it. Laid back San Diego might have been a better fit as they will most certainly see a Superbowl before he does. I think the genes are just too good the pedigree just too strong. He still seems a kid in a big town but this year will define him more then any other. I think it's worth the gamble in the sixth or seventh round if you donšt have a quarterback then he will be better this year then last and maybe even find his football legs and be great. This is a tough team, physically bigger then most and very intimidating. He will find his grove and be a winner. That's my prediction. |
