Ben Roethlisberger

A Superbowl ring, a cat-scan negative, these are the trophies from his first two years in the league.

In his third year, he has to mature into the man he will become.

The legendary chin is gone.

The team is still in post Superbowl hangover.

But, there is still a lot of talent here.

The coach, Tomlin, is a defensive mind and the loss of Whisenhunt is huge.

The great O-line, which has been a steady excellence on this team from the legendary Mike Webster to present, is breaking up.

Watch the Faneca situation closely.

With their latest great center retiring, it is going to be a struggle to replace him, and it is too bad that his body continued to break down so quickly.

There are good receivers here a solid tight end and a great Hybrid back that will catch many of Roethlisberger's passes.

In fact even off his accidents and issues last year Ben threw for 3500+ yards.

He is improving and this team can win.

I have a good feeling about them this year.

The defense is solid and the pipeline of talent stellar until it proves otherwise.

Pittsburgh is my team and so I am colored by emotions here.

When I was in the fourth grade our teacher let us watch the World Series each day and Roberto Clemente was the greatest baseball player ever for me.

And when he died he became a martyr.

At Christmas for a while my brother in law's favorite thing to remind me was how I wanted that Bradshaw bum to be traded or cut in his first year.

Pittsburgh has been very good to me! Superbowls through the seventies, scrappy baseball teams under Jimmy Leland and Stanley Cup championships led by Super Mario.

And then the conflict bowl where my home team Seattle finally goes only to meet my heart's team Pittsburgh.

By the way, Cowher out schemed Holmgren in that game and the officiating didn't matter this was the real story. Holmgren was asked about trick plays and he said that they practice them but he is to conservative to use them. (Nuff said.)

Roethlisberger will be a valuable quarterback to grab late and will be fine this year.
