Okay, I need to make another concession here. This is a list of the top players. It is a suggested ranking that you as the reader need to make your own decisions about based on this and all the other information you are researching. This is not a cheat sheet. That said I believe that all Tight Ends should be chosen last or close to last or picked up on waivers later. In looking over the scoring they contribute so little each week itıs like the wild card position. The tight end will give you a random victory and sometimes a championship, but nothing with regularity. A few years ago, before the pick-up cutoff, I suggested, to an anxious owner, Christian Fauria, when he was with the Patriots; and, he went on to score in every game in the playoffs, including, against me in the Superbowl. I lost. Last year I had McMichael on my team in a best ball. All year he didn't score and I thought about replacing him, but, in the tight rules we had I never did. After making the bye it was his scores in week 16 and 17 that won each game for me and a championship trophy in the first year of the ffdh.com Champions League. Predict that! In looking at Shockey's numbers last year I'm not sure he even deserves this position on the list. He does get injured often and his team seems to be in disarray with even the owner communicating to the coach to be more approachable and lay off a little. I think Shockey has an awesome attitude, the good ole boy, shit kicking get-er-done ethos. He is not just a prima-donna, he's a get down-in-the-dirt, go balls-out-crazy, crash into everything and don't let anyone get away without knowing you were there personally! He is a great outlet for Manning and I think he will be utilized more this year. No one knows what will happen with the running game or what kind of success they will achieve so Shockey comes off as a reliable target here. Just don't bother drafting him too high and hope someone else does. Chalk him up as a cannon fodder player that would be worth it if he fell far enough, but a guy youıre really not going to get. |
