Sigh, as much as we all love Herm Edwards, offenses just seem to fall apart around him. Perhaps itıs a jinx.

It is troubling that a back who recently signed a new contract, got a huge signing bonus, and has three years left would hold out for a new one. Three years! Sooner or later sports owners will need to demand their due and take these guys to court for breach of contract when they donıt deliver!

Itıs true that he is one of the best which is why he has the contract he has!

When do the players wake up and realize that their contract is with the fans as much as the team. When too many are struggling to make the bills and raise children on a yearly income that these guys make in a single game is amazing. Then to cry that you are underappreciated simply because the market has moved when you were paid the highest just a few years before is insulting.

We sign contracts and are taken to court if we donıt fulfill them. We show up for our jobs or we are fired!

Without the fans there wouldnıt be any money and hereıs where the greed hurts the most.

It is common to say that it is just a business. Itıs not just a business! Itıs a sport that is played at the luxury of the attention of society. It is our money, the fan, that pays for these salaries and there needs to be recognition and a little loyalty to the sacrifices made by them.

That said he is probably due a reworking or an extension. He is not Tomlinson and should not expect his money, but, Carl Peterson needs to get this done.

Johnson has proven to be a gifted runner and an elite talent. He sees the writing on the wall as one of the greatest lines in N.F.L. history falls apart. He is also being worked hard by the Chiefs. And, after four years with his rookie contract he deserves incentive bonuses or a new one.

He signed a 7 year deal and he needs to own up to that and negotiate in good faith and not with threats. He should dutifully play; as he was behind Priest Holmes for two years as a backup and then gave the Chiefs only a season and a half for the money they have already paid him. He should be a team player and prove once again that he deserves more money.

Johnson does not pass block well and has been an attitude problem for the Chiefs. It was Vermeil that said he needed to take the diapers off! Leopards donıt change their spots! Kansas City says they have quality people to step in for the departed pro-bowl lineman, but this remains to be seen.

Edwards says that Bennett is healthy and ready to play more to lighten Johnsonıs load; maybe he will have to start the season for him!

This is a team on the decline, though competent, it is in a tough division and has a difficult schedule.

The quarterback position is full of questions and the receiver corps still inadequate to really compliment the running game.

If the line doesnıt hold, the offense doesnıt gel around the new QB, or, Johnson holds out into the season then Kansas City will have a dismal year.

At least he gave me a championship two years ago.

I have Johnson as a keeper in one league and will be keeping three running backs because of the questions surrounding him. He is too valuable to pass up, but, a safer bet may be warranted.

If you love quarterbacks, maybe choose Carson Palmer or Peyton Manning here instead.

There is too much uncertainty and turmoil in the wide receivers year to year to warrant this early of a pick.

As for the rest of the elite running backs, read on!
