Last year Brees proved Schottenheimer right and pundits to be weak kneed hacks, who wonıt go out on a limb to save their life. Certainly a few believed in him, but they were few and always came with caveats. Brees came back from a devastating injury, like the town he plays for. With the emerging talent heıs surrounded by, it was almost too easy. He is maturing into an excellent leader, and a solid football player. Yes, at 6 feet even he is really too small, but, he makes up for this in guts, savvy, determination and football smarts. In our league, he was second only to Manning in points. In this scoring system his line was awesome. 2nd QB, 17th overall, 120 points: 3,8,0,8,3,12,B,14,15,5,12,12,3,21,1,3,0 Tough finish for his owners but he put them into the playoffs where the rest of the team may have stepped up. This year should be even more consistent. He wonıt miss the old man Horn, as, Terrance Copper will step up and be better then anyone thinks. Colston is a special talent and Bush, really a tight-end more then anything right now; and one of the best. With McAllister clearing the way and the others stretching the field this savvy general will come out firing over and over all season! Devery Henderson is truly special and Robert Meachem will by the second half. This is a loaded team and no one wants to play them right now. The schedule makers have put them into a furnace the last couple of years and this one is no different. Yet, the strongest steel comes from the hottest fire! Well, layering too. Damascus steel is still prized and the multiple layers of offensive threats on this team earn them the analogy. This team has an excellent young coaching staff and they are kids in the candy store with all their scoring choices. This team will be in the playoffs with at least nine wins. Brees is the general, the commander, he is the decisive leader this young team needs and it will be a pleasure to watch him this year. He will fly under the radar a bit and you will be able to secure him in a later round, and, he will be well worth it. |
