With one of the easiest schedules in the N.F.L., a solid offensive line, ageing but competent stars at receivers, a veteran, but ready to prove something quarterback, a solid, opportunistic defense, and Jackson; this team is ready to win its division. Jackson is poised to break out and maybe even challenge Tomlinson for the top spot. With Mad Martz gone and Scott Linehan in, the running game will become the focus of the offensive scoring. Linehan learned this the hard way. He has a sharp, young football mind and understands the need for establishing the ground game and pounding the opposition into submission, and, he will do this by using the pass to set up the run. By the third quarter of games the field will be stretched and linebackers shying away from the tank of a man coming at them. Jackson loves to hit and he has the moves to be great. All the pieces are in place and that is why everyone has him as their #2 pick. But, his track record is spotty and it took a while for him to get going last year. Teams will no longer be surprised by the change in game plan. Though he seems to have been chomping at the bit, he still needs to prove his awesome 2006 four game finish can be replicated and sustained for an entire season. His strong finish won a few championships, yet, in 2007 he finishes with Pittsburgh¹s #1 rush defense in the semi or final FF game. That said, he gets Pittsburgh at home, and, with Green Bay the week before and Arizona the week after; he may be propelling his owners¹ into FF championships, again. |
