Willis McGahee

Another back who owners will love and draft higher then this, McGahee has displayed a lack of character and appreciation for those who are enabling him to succeed.

His comments, after his departure from Buffalo; arguably not Miami for night life or day life, were insensitive and completely unnecessary. Will Baltimore be that much better?

McGahee was coming off a horrendous injury that some athletes would never be able to come back from. Buffalo drafted him high, showing him respect and a paycheck that he would not normally have commanded especially as he was going to be rehabbing and not contributing for a while.

If he had even a speck of class he would have kept his mouth shut accept to thank them for believing in him when so many others did not.

But, as is typical with the human condition there are all types and for every prince of a man therešs always a jerk in the crowd.

McGahee obviously has talent, but the inconsistency of his performance seemed to me reminiscent of Randy Moss when he was turning it on and off as it suited him.

Baltimore has less of a line this year then they did last year and it may even be weaker then the one he left. McNair is getting very old and no one is afraid of the receiver corps; at least Losman and Evans kept defenses honest.

Team sports are team sports and McGahee is not a team player. Nor is he a football god either.

How will last years Buffalo stat line be improved upon so significantly on Baltimore?

2005: 26th RB, 47 total: 2,0,8,7,7,8,1,2,B,1,0,1,1,0,6,1,2

2006: 23rd RB, 53 total: 1,1,3,7,1,1,2,B0,0,0,13,6,10,1,7,0

I see a mediocre season and though he will be drafted higher then this pick he will probably perform lower.

Baltimore will be hurting with the departure of Adelius Thomas and though they are keeping their chins up, this will be evident when the season begins.

McGahee will feast on some patsies and his schedule is full of them. He could have a spectacular year but the rewards donšt outweigh the risks here and I need to see it to believe it.

Baltimore has recently relied on their defense and has not been a prolifically scoring team. Ball control and clock management are more their style then high flying offensive madness.

The stacked fronts he will be looking at may make him begin to reminisce about the quiet little leafy town outside the Appalachians on the shore of Lake Eire.
