The Jets are on an upward arc.

After finishing with 10 wins last season they went out and improved their team.

A better then most offensive line has allowed what might have been mediocre players to shine.

Pennington's knocks are that he is fragile, has marginal accuracy and no zip on his balls.

Yet he gets them in.

He has good football smarts and is a decent field general.

Coles is one of the best possession receivers in the league.

Cotchery is one of the most exciting up and comers in the N.F.L.

Jones can catch, if allowed, and is a fierce spirit that will energize an already motivated team.

They could roll over being in the division of the decade's dynasty champions, but they also benefit from two rebuilding franchises and an easier conference draw like the Patriots.

They have an excellent coach, easily one of the brightest minds in the sport, and an excellent front office.

The Belichick fiasco aside they have piggybacked on a lot of shared players with New England and have learned tremendously from playing them twice a year.

This is a good team and possibly a playoff team and Pennington is due to last through a season.

He is a value pick and an excellent backup, but, with a stout defense, the offense is methodical and clock controlling. They will never amass huge points, just beat you.
