A lot of people are already counting the Giants out for this year. They have measured the younger Manning and found him wanting. They may be very wrong. The first thing other teams see when they meet this team is how big they are. This shows up in intimidation and strength. Coughlin has had his problems rubbing people the wrong way but he is an excellent coach and disciplinarian. Eli Manning will play better this year. Burress will play better this year. The rookie and near-rookie receivers will step up. Brandon Jacobs will be a load moving the chains and will tire and need to be spelled. Reuben Droughns will be the between the numbers back, and, if Jacobs gets hurt or doesn't perform as expected, Droughns has the experience to take over the position and run with it. He has had a great season with Denver and piled up lots of yards in Cleveland. Both backs could post 1000 yard seasons this year. Not a bad running back to have, on your bench. |
