I'm beginning to think there are some really prescient people on the staff of this team. Joey Porter is getting his knee scoped while a new star has emerged to be the captain and soul of this defense. Troy Polomalu is the most likeable fierce competitor you're likely to see in a while. Pittsburgh has one of the best run stuffing units in the league and the new coach is as tough minded as they are. The real Achilles heal is the secondary and they have yet to adequately succeed in shoring this up. The real problem is that they have a winning record season after season and by the time their first pick comes around the really great corners and DBs are gone. Cornerback has become one of the most sought after positions in the N.F.L. The success up-front forces teams to get desperate even and throw more often, which too often is finding success. This should be a great year for Pittsburgh as Tomlin has already instilled respect and even in the first pre-season game is showing the leadership to inspire. Roethlisberger is healed and ready to be better. Ward is a champion and leader. Wilson is ready to step up and Holmes gets better with each pass. Willie Parker is a top shelf stud and Davenport a goal line tank. This team will probably win their division and go to the playoffs. This is a solid defensive unit to choose. They have scored a lot of fantasy points in the past and should again this year. |
